Don’t know where to get help?
Happy New Year, Wanaka! We hope everyone had a relaxing break.
This month, we’re reminding people in the community that social work support is available at the Wanaka Community Hub and in the community for a range of issues – from family wellbeing to finances, injury and mental health.
Social workers provide care, advice and support to people with personal or social problems, and help with community and social issues. There are a number of agencies operating in this space in the Upper Clutha (more on them next week), but here at Community Networks/LINK we also have an in-house registered Social Worker, Heather Clay.
Heather can provide short-term direct support to anyone in the Upper Clutha who is struggling financially, mentally or physically. She can help you cope with your difficulties, put a plan in place and, if needed, connect you with appropriate longer-term resources, including food and financial support; budgeting advice; or further meetings with one of our social services colleagues.
Heather is available by appointment Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays here at the Wanaka Community Hub. So, if you or someone you know is struggling and you don’t know exactly how or where to get help, call Community Networks/LINK on 03 443 7799 or drop in to the Community Hub for more information.
