Ride and win on the Community Shuttle

Christmas is coming, the year is rushing to a close, and we suddenly find ourselves in the last month of the Community Shuttle Trial, ending on December 21!

We’ve seen a huge amount of enthusiasm for the Trial - both on and off the bus - but lower ridership than we would like. Rome wasn’t built in a day; and as with many community development projects, behaviour change takes time.

We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback from users of the Trial – “comfortable”, “safe”, “convenient” and “friendly” are just a few of the words we’re hearing a lot of - and we know Wānaka is ready for public transport, but we need that to show up in the numbers! So, to keep your energy for public transport bubbling in the last few weeks of the Trial, we are launching a Community Shuttle Trial giveaway.

Starting November 21, each week we’ll be giving away a $50 gift voucher to a local café or eatery somewhere along the route. Entering to win is simple: just take a ride on the Shuttle and complete the customer feedback survey (either online or on the bus). We’ll automatically enter you into the draw to win for that week. Ride the Shuttle and complete the survey often for multiple chances to win!

We encourage everyone to give the Trial a go – whether it’s a one-off trip or making it part of your weekly schedule. With its limited scope, we know there might be some compromise involved - but we hope the financial and environmental benefits of public transport overshadow that.
