Struggling to make ends meet?

This month, we’re reminding our community about Community Networks/LINK food parcels, which can help take the pressure off day-to-day living costs for a while.

The Foodbank is located in our offices at the Wānaka Community Hub, 34 McDougall Street and is well-stocked with a variety of canned, non-perishable and fresh items including veges, milk, bread and meat - all generously donated by the Wānaka community and local businesses.

Call ahead or pop in during regular Foodbank opening hours:

  • Mondays 1:00 - 4:00pm

  • Wednesdays 11:00am - 2:00pm

  • Fridays 9:00am - 12:00pm

If you can’t make it during those times, give our new after-hours service a try - every Tuesday from 5:00 to 6:00pm by appointment (just call or email us to let us know you’re coming). And if transport is an issue for you, we can help there too - just give us a call.

If you would like, our team can connect you to further support, like financial advice or chat with our Social Worker.

There’s also plenty of free support available online to help you tackle money issues. You could search for resources like this Cheap Eats Cookbook (full of tips for people living on a tight budget including simple recipes, ways to save money on food, and heart-healthy cooking advice), head to Money Talks and call their free helpline or visit sorted.org.nz for free webinars, resources and tools.

For a food parcel, more information or useful links, call 443 7799, email info@communitynetworks.co.nz or head to communitynetworks.co.nz.
